No running today - it's a welcome day off after three straight days on the streets and 23 miles. That included 12 miles Saturday and 4.7 on Monday in Carroll, where the temperature was blessedly cool.
On Saturday I ran around the municipal golf course and then south on Grant Rd. to Swan Lake and back home again. The schedule called for 10 miles, but the weather was great - it was 59 when I started - and I knew I was going to have to swap in a shorter run for a longer one in a couple of weeks. I did those 12 miles in 1:51.
It was a little warmer and much more humid on Sunday, and my legs were a little stiff from the day before, but this was designated "easy," and I kept it that way. I ran straight north on Grant Rd., taking a couple little side trips into school grounds, and then came straight back. I misjudged the distance on my side trips, so I ended up with 4.7 miles. I averaged 9:20 on this run.
By Monday my legs were more rested, and it was a good thing because this was my weekly hill run. I pick the hilliest route I can find and go for 6 miles. I felt pretty good, doing 6.4 miles in 60 min. It rained lightly for the entire run, and was very humid, so I was soaked by the time I got back.
