After a day off from running on Tuesday I was up early today for at least 6 miles. There was no wind, a mostly cloudless sky, and a temperature of 68. Very nice.
The schedule called for an "easy" run, so I made no effort to expend any extra effort. I opened with a 10:38, then worked my way down to 8:38 in the last two miles. I did 6.4 miles, averaging 9:18 for the whole run.
A side note: I am setting new mileage records with each run with my current running shoes. So far they have 640 miles on them, and they still feel pretty good. Previously I've never gone much farther than 500 miles on a pair of shoes, but for some reason (I think because I'm running more easy miles) these seem to be lasting longer. My goal is to have my next new pair last me through my next marathon in October. To do that I probably need to squeeze another 60 or 70 miles out of these.
