The nice, warm spring weather is nice for almost everything but running. Usually, it's 65 at the warmest this time of year, with no humidity. Running is great in weather like that. No so, this year.
I was out by 8:30, and the temperature was right at 60 but climbing rapidly. I'm not sure what it go to by the time I got done, but it definitely got into the warm and humid range.
I thought I would do 8 - 10 miles, but anytime I set a range for myself I always seem to shoot for the high end. I knew 10 miles would give me a little over 30 for the week, a nice round number.
I started at the levee trailhead on Highway 9 and headed straight west to English Landing Park. I did a loop there and then headed back to the trailhead and ran out a little over a mile there and back again. The total mileage was 11, which allowed me to log 31.5 miles for the week.
My pace today was mostly good, although a couple of sub-9 miles crept in somehow. Overall, I averaged 9:21. I really didn't have any trouble with the distance, but it was a little harder than it would have been on a cooler, drier day.
