I looked it up. Last year on this date I was trying to recover from my October marathon. I had groin and hernia issues. Things were improving, though, and on Dec. 3 I ran a little over 6 miles, averaging 9:28 per mile.
This year I'm running a little over 6 miles a week, and again I'm trying to recover from groin issues. I think all my hernia issues are resolved, though.
Despite the low mileage, I think I'm making slow but steady progress. Since running on Wednesday I've felt extremely good. The easy running and resting are speeding the rehab, just as I hoped. I almost think I could go out and run a few 9 min. miles. I won't make that mistake, though. I'm going out tomorrow to run somewhere between 4 and 5 miles at maybe a 13 min. pace. If I can do that, I'll be satisfied. At least for now.
I really almost ran tonight, but resisted. Rode 16 miles instead.
