July 30, 2009

Distance: 10 miles
Time: 1:30:34
Average: 9:04
Run type: long
Location: English Landing Park and the levy
Weather: 75, mostly sunny, dry.
Aches: Legs, from too many miles in a short period. I've run 5 out of the last 6 days for a total of 44 miles.
Injuries: None
Observations: 1) Lots of people on the trail. Runners, walkers, bikers, lovers. 2) Disk golfers all over the place. Everyone is out on a perfect day. Is this July?
Session notes: Didn't know when I started how far I could go. My legs were overworked, sore and tired, and I almost gave in at about the 3.5 mile mark, but I was that far from the car so I decided to keep going after a 30 second walk. I was able to find a steady, comfortable pace after that and ran the last 5 or 6 miles in under 9 each. The mild weather worked in my favor; if it had been warm I couldn't have gone 10. I'm ready for a couple days off, for sure. That's a 28-mile week and a 147-mile month, the most miles I've run in a month ever, I think.
