Half marathoners
If you haven't achieved your 3-mile run yet, there's no reason to fret. There are still two weeks left to do it. This week you should be warming up for 5 min. and then running for 25, so I'd be shocked if you were even close to 3 miles. At best, you're totaling 2.5 miles in 25 minutes, which is a 10 min. mile pace. If a 10 min. mile is your goal, start out at 10:30 and finish at a 9:30 pace. You'll finish much stronger that way than if you run all three at 10, or worse, start out at 9:30.
Don't worry if you're not running that fast. Just start slowly and gradually build up to whatever pace you can hold. However, at the end of next week, you should plan to run a full 5k (3.1 miles), no matter how long it takes. Time it. We will use that time to fine-tune your half-marathon training.
