As a birthday treat to myself I took the day off and slept late. I woke up at 5:55 to a beautiful morning with the temperature at 63 degrees. Cool day, no hurry to get going or to get back for the workday - pure leisure run.
Since this was to be a hill run, I chose a route that includes the Line Creek Trail. There are hills getting there, hills on the trail, and hills getting back. I avoid this route on warm and/or humid days, but like it on cool days, especially if I'm in shape. The hot spot on my left foot seemed to be gone, thankfully, and my legs felt fresh after my light workout Sunday.
I opened with a 10:03 and a 9:26, then the next 5.5 miles at about 8:50 per mile. The fastest mile was mile 7, which is uphill most of the way. Did that one in 8:39.
Final totals were 7.4 miles in 1:07:08, an average of 9:04 per mile.
