South Dakota

Went to South Dakota to paint a kitchen in Kay's folk's house, but managed to get out for a 7 mile run late Saturday morning, and a 4.6 mile run early Sunday morning.
The Saturday run had to be put off until a morning thunderstorm blew over. Once it did, I was out there, but it cleared up and got hot in a hurry. Since I was only planning on running 6, and because I didn't think it was going to get hot so fast, I hadn't taken any hydration along on the run. By the time I hit 6 I was still  about three-fourths of a mile from the house, so naturally I stretched the run to 7 miles. The only problem with that was that I was already thirsty by mile 5. I was really glad to get in the house and get a glass of water. More, I was even happier to run 7, seeing as how it had already been a pie-filled weekend, and there was more to come.
I averaged 8:45 per mile on the run.
On Sunday I was able to get out before 7 a.m. when it was still in the upper 60s. The streets in a town of 800 people are verrry quite early on a Sunday morning.
Like Saturday, the temperature was rising very quickly. But I figure I can do 3 - 5 in just about any temperature, so the run went very nicely. Besides, I took it slowly, averaging 9:35.
Got the painting done, too.
