Nobody at the gym when I got there at 8 a.m. Very unusual for a Saturday.
My goal was something between 7 and 8 miles at a relatively slow pace - a long, slow run. I didn't want to run into a hydration problem again, so I divided the run into two 40 min. parts, sort of an out-and-back. In between, I got a nice long drink.
The first 40 min. yielded 3.83 miles, and the second 3.91 miles, so it was a nice negative split. I purposely kept the pace no faster than 10 min. per mile, which I recorded for just one mile. The average for the whole run was 10:21.
I could have gone farther, except that the ball of my left foot was getting a little hot. I had good running socks on, but no slick, and it seems that if the run gets over 7 miles I start wishing I had used the slick. I will next time.
My mileage for the week ended up at 22.
