Session Notes: Finally did this run after all these years living just a few miles away. Field was crowded and it took a good mile to get any running room. Still, I did the opening mile in 9:04. I should have stayed at that pace for another mile or two, but I found myself seeking room to run, darting between and round other runners, until I finished my second mile in 7:56. Yikes! I'm not in good enough shape to run a whole 10 k at that speed. My next mile was 7:49, and from there on I tried to ease up so I would be sure to make it. Mile 4 was 8:11, and I didn't get a split for mile 5, but my last two miles averaged 8:58. It was fun, I felt good and I did OK. I think I'll go back next year.
