Running through it

I went to the dentist Monday morning to get a broken tooth fixed, and after a dose of novacaine and a bunch of grinding and a few hours of work, I ended the day with a sore throat.
I ran.
Tuesday the sore throat was worse and it kind of wore me out, so I just came home after work and sat on my butt. I was due a day off anyway.
Today the sore throat was slightly better, but by the end of the day I was dragging. It was a sunny, warm day, though, and I kind of thought it'd do me good to go out and do a nice easy run by the river, so I did.
I took it real easy getting started and and averaged about 9:35 for the first 3 miles. I stopped at that point for a couple minutes and took a nice, big draw of my water, then took off again. After another kind of slow mile I noticed I was breathing better and my legs felt lighter. In fact, I felt better all around than I had all day. I did the last 3.5 miles quite a bit faster and finished with a 9:11 average.
And I still feel better 90 minutes after getting home. Maybe I chased this bug away.
