Wednesday was a nice day, so I took advantage of it and headed out to the park in Parkville for a 6 miler along the river.
Sometimes I don't really know what kind of run I'm going to do until I get started, and this was one of those times. Before I started I kind of thought it'd just be a nice, easy 9-min.-mile run, but as soon as I took my first step I changed my mind and decided to go for time. The weather was perfect for a "race" of sorts, 67 degrees, no wind, low humidity, sunny.
So, I took off. I ran a faster than normal first mile warmup of 9:14, then two 8:18s, an 8:31, an 8:05 and 7:42. My final two-thirds of a mile was done at a 7:47 pace. I think I could have taken 15 seconds off each split if my legs had been fresh, but this was my fourth consecutive day of running, and one of the other days was a 9-mile race.
Today's a rest day, which means I will just lift some weights, and Friday I'll do a distance run, possibly 10 miles.
