Stayed inside for my run Saturday. We had a cold rain all morning and into the middle of the afternoon, and then about 6 hours of snowfall. It was so bad that the Olathe marathon was cancelled. Glad I hadn't trained 4 months for that one only to have it erased by the weather.
I ran 8 miles, which was roughly half the number of miles I'd run up to that point for the week. I'm still recovering from the Little Rock Marathon two weeks ago, although I think that process is just about completed. I don't feel stiff or sore or heavy legged at all anymore. I did half of Saturday's run at a pretty good clip and felt good all the way.
The next competitive run comes next Sunday - the Brew to Brew relay race from Kansas City to Lawrence, which is 44 miles. We have two 5-man teams, and each person runs 6 - 10 miles. Two of our runners are friends from Iowa who are coming down just for this event. We ran with them last October at the Living History Farm cross-country race. We'll have a big barbecue party on Saturday and then the run Sunday. The run ends with a finish-line dinner in Lawrence.
