Keep the motor running

It's a good thing I signed up for a race and paid my money. That's about the only motivation I've got right now to keep training. Nothing about the preparation for my race in March is going the way I'd like it to:
1. The other guys who were going to run the marathon with me are not training, either because of other commitments or due to injury.
2. I've had to sharply cut back on my own training because of tendon problems in my right foot.
3. With a PR out of the question, I'd be OK with a "just finish" marathon, but I have no confidence right now that I could in fact finish. I don't believe my foot could last that long.
4. The weather and time of year (it's dark when I can run) make it tough to log quality outdoor workouts.
But, you know, I signed up and I do not wish to suffer needlessly in March. So, I will plug away and do my best to get ready.
I have one other motivation. My two nieces are training for their first half marathon in May. It's just as tough for them, and if they're not quitting, I'm sure not quitting.
Let's go for it.
