Marathon paced training run

I had a nice morning for today's 9-mile run - 65 degrees and not too humid. I woke up ahead of my alarm at 4:50 a.m. and rolled out of the sack. Good thing, because I needed the extra few minutes to finish up by 6:30.

This workout called for 9 miles, with 6 at marathon pace. For me that means 9 min. miles. I felt pretty good after a day off, so after a 2-mile warmup, I went right into marathon pace. Mile three ws 8:41, and mile four was 8:43 (my slowest). The splits generally went down from there until I ran 8:03 in mile 8.

Overall I did 9.1 miles in 1:19:09, which is an 8:42 average.
