Almost unmotivated

It's a good thing I have a race scheduled, because that was the only motivation I had to go for a run after work. I don't know why, but I just couldn't rev up for a workout tonight. The monotony of the treadmill held no appeal. Running outside was a little more appealing, but it was getting dark, and it was chilly, which meant I'd have to get all my cold weather gear on. What a pain. And I was tired.
But, you know, Rock the Parkway is coming up in three weeks and I need road miles. Out I went.
One of the beauties of running is the almost instant payoff. I hadn't gone two blocks when I realized I already felt better. Invigorated, even. I set a comfortable pace and kept on going.
The final result was 6.01 miles in 55:55, for a 9:19 pace.
Oh, my gym refunded my $20 late payment fee. Never mess with the MRC!  -- Rob
