What a day.
It started with the funeral of a good friend's mother, and then went downhill from there with crisis after crisis at work. None of the crises is resolved, even now.
I got to the gym with a fairly advanced case of stress. Every single treadmill and eliptical trainer was busy. Happily, though, one opened up within about 5 min., and I grabbed it. Physically, it immediately felt good to be running. I didn't think about it while I was running, but when I stepped off I was suddenly aware that I felt a lot looser in the areas where I usually feel stress - shoulders, neck, temples. I felt a lot better mentally. No matter what my stats were, that feeling was worth it.
All the same, my stats were 6.31 miles in one hour, for a 9:31 pace. My top pace was 8:41, after starting out at 10:40.
