Distance: 50.61 miles
Time: 3:51:18
Average: 13.1 mph
Ride type: Long
Location: Home to Camden Point via Interurban Rd.
Weather: Sunny, 73 to start, about 90 at the end.
Aches: Groin. I walked for 20 min. on Tuesday night and have been sore ever since, though it's gotten slightly better each day since.
Injuries: Hernia
Session Notes: Three of us took off from the cul-de-sac at 7 a.m., road residential and business-area streets to the Interurban Rd. and Camden Point and back. It was the longest bike ride I've done yet.
Since this was a long ride, we didn't push the pace, except for brief periods here and there. While Interurban was its usual flatness, the 13 miles it took to get there and to finish were quite hilly and took some effort. I am happy to report I had no problem with the distance with regard to leg or butt fatigue. I'm sure I could have gone another 10 or 15, but it was getting hot and I was out of water. My GPS says I burned 2,499 calories on the ride, so that's a good thing, since I've been a bit of a bad eater this week (pizza, muffins, cookies, etc.). I must reform.
