Session comments: This was a fantastic morning for a run. Cool, a little breeze, and no rapid warmup as the sun rose. There were two of us, and we ran two four-mile segments on the road, stopping in between to hydrate, before heading down the trail. We were shaded much of the time, and enjoyed a beautiful countryside run on a county road and then off onto a gravel road. It remained very nice on the trail - plenty of shade, with forest off to our left and the lake on the right. Our pace for the first 13 miles was an easy 10:20, and at that point Mike turned back, since he needed just 16 miles. I went out another couple miles before turning back so I could get my 20. I ran my final 7 miles at goal pace, averaging around 8:30. I felt good and strong all the way (thank God for the perfect weather), and could have gone farther if I wanted to. But, there was really no reason for that.
The run pushed my weekly total to 51.4 miles, a new high, and my August total to 171.3, a new monthly record by a wide margin. I still have one more running day in August.

Are you entered in a race before the DM Marathon?
I will probably find something up to a half marathon to race in before the marathon, but I'm not signed up for anything just yet.
