I'm headed to Des Moines Friday for Saturday's Living History Farms 7-mile cross country race. The weather report is for 32 degrees and snow showers. Should be fun.
Just in case I don't get back to the blog before Sunday, here's the workout schedule for J and A for the upcoming week:
Do this workout three times during the week:
Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:
Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
Walk 1/4 mile (or 2-1/2 minutes)
Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
After next week, (the workouts above) the actual running really starts to pick up, so you should definitely be in your good running shoes.
Have fun!

I completed a Week 3 training this evening. Short and sweet. My legs were still a bit sore from my competitive rediculousness on Monday, so it felt good to get them moving again. I increased the speed two-tenths of a mph for the second set, which was a bit of a push with the heavy legs. I plan another Week 3 workout this weekend, then on to the Week 4 you detailed out tonight. It will be a test of dedication next week to get my workouts in. Turkey can be very distracting. Mmm.
Have fun at Living History Farms. Stay warm and say hi to DSM for me.
